Heidelberg United’s home changing after $7.5 million in funding

Heidelberg United secured additional 7.5 million in funding for Olympic Village. 4.5 million from The Andrews Labor Govt & 3 million from local council, Banyule.
The $110 million second round of the Victorian Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program has backed 42 projects across the state, which are expected to create 600 local jobs.

In total an amount of $7.5 million dollars will go towards Stages 3 & 4 of the Master Plan Redevelopment Project for Olympic Park. This is on top of the $7.5 million that has already been spent to complete Stages 1 & 2 of the project. Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence confirmed Olympic Park in Heidelberg had received $4.5 million to continue works to transform the park into a multi-faceted sport and recreation precinct.

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines said “Olympic Park is a place where the community comes together it’s fantastic that people in Heidelberg and surrounding suburbs will be able to enjoy sports facilities and a meeting place of such a high standard”. Finally according to Heidelberg United FC president Steven Tsalikidis “a key feature of Heidelberg United’s success on and off the pitch has been the game-changing upgrades here at Olympic Park, and we thank the Victorian Government for their part in making the facilities even better.
