Victoria has recorded nine COVID-related deaths and 9,036 new cases.
It takes the total number of active infections to 47,242.
There are 199 coronavirus patients in Victorian hospitals, up from 197 a day earlier.
Of those people, 23 are in intensive care units and five are receiving ventilation.
Just over 63 per cent of Victorian adults have now received three vaccine doses and around 94 per cent of those aged 12 and older have received at least two.
Of the new cases, 5,872 were detected through rapid antigen tests, and 3,164 through PCR tests.
The number of new cases is a drop from the 9,752 new cases reported yesterday, and the 9,426 reported on Wednesday.
The state’s seven-day daily average for new infections has now risen to around 7,491.
Health authorities have warned there could be a spike in new cases due to the spread of the more infectious Omicron BA.2 sub-variant.
Earlier this week, the health minister revealed BA.2 comprised half of all traces of COVID-19 found in wastewater samples in Victoria.
