H Βικτώρια κατέγραψε 208 νέα κρούσματα το τελευταίο 24ωρο και δυστυχώς ένα άτομο έχασε τη ζωή του, το τρίτο αυτή την εβδομάδα.
96 κρούσματα έχουν συνδεθεί με γνωστές εστίες, ενώ ο αριθμός των ενεργών κρουσμάτων ανέρχεται πλέον σε 1,180.
Την ίδια περίοδο διενεργήθηκαν 48.572 τεστ και χορηγήθηκαν 33,511 δόσεις εμβολίων. Σύμφωνα με στοιχεία του Υπουργείου Υγείας της Βικτώριας το 58.1% των πολιτών της Βικτώριας έχουν λάβει την πρώτη δόση εμβολίων κατά της Covid-19, ενώ το 36% έχει λάβει και τις 2 δόσεις.
Ο αριθμός των κρουσμάτων έχει σημειώσει ραγδαία αύξηση αυτή την εβδομάδα, ξεκινώντας με 73 κρούσματα την Δευτέρα, 119 της Τρίτη, 176 την Τετάρτη και 208 χθες. Η τελευταία φορά που κατεγράφησαν πάνω από 200 κρούσματα ήταν στις 22 Αυγούστου του 2020 όταν εντοπίσθηκαν 202 κρούσματα.
Οι υγειονομικές Αρχές προετοιμάζονται για αφόρητη πίεση στο σύστημα υγείας, τη στιγμή που οι Πολιτειακές Αρχές εστιάζουν στην μείωση των κρουσμάτων και όχι στον μηδενισμό τους. Η έμφαση τώρα δίνεται στην επίσπευση των εμβολιασμών έτσι ώστε να αρθούν κάποιοι περιορισμοί όταν φτάσουμε στο 70%.
Μέχρι χθες το βράδυ 61 άτομα νοσηλεύονταν σε νοσοκομεία της Βικτώριας με Covid-19, 20 από αυτά σε Μονάδες Εντατικής Θεραπείας και 13 διασωληνωμένα.

Victoria has recorded 208 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and one more person has died with the virus in the state.
Of the new cases, 96 are linked to known outbreaks.
The death recorded overnight is the third fatality this week from Victoria’s Delta outbreak, which now stands at 1,180 active cases.
The new cases were identified from 48,572 test results received yesterday, while there were 33,511 doses of vaccine administered at state-run sites.
According to federal health department figures, 58.1 per cent of the eligible Victorian population has received their first dose of a vaccine, while 36 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Victoria’s daily case count has risen sharply this week, going from 73 cases from tests taken on Monday, to 119 on Tuesday, 176 on Wednesday, and 208 from tests on Thursday.
The last time Victoria recorded more than 200 new cases in a single day was August 22, 2020, when 202 cases were recorded. It is the highest daily figure since 231 cases were recorded on August 19.
Health professionals are bracing for the impact on Victoria’s hospital system now that the state has changed its position on driving case numbers from the state’s Delta outbreak to zero. Instead, the path out of lockdowns is hinged on vaccination targets.
As of last night, there were 61 COVID-19 patients in Victorian hospitals, including 20 in intensive care, with 13 of those people on ventilators.
