Victoria has recorded 1,247 new local COVID-19 cases and nine deaths.
There are now 17,674 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 335 people have died in the state during the current Delta outbreak.
Today’s figures come after two days of case counts that dipped below the 1,000 mark — Thursdays typically have the highest numbers of new cases reported.
There are now 660 people in hospital with COVID-19, of whom 114 are in intensive care and 78 are on a ventilator.
The new cases were detected from 50,180 test results received yesterday.
There were 16,209 doses of vaccine given at state-run sites yesterday, as well as more vaccinations at GP clinics and other venues.
