La Trobe opens prestigious Vassilogiannis PhD scholarship in Greek studies, established in honour of the late Anastassios Vassilogianis, a passionate advocate for Hellenic scholarship and a major benefactor of the university’s Greek Studies program.
Made possible through his generosity and lasting commitment to Greek culture, the scholarship will support postgraduate research in any field related to Greek language, culture, or the global Greek diaspora.
“We are delighted to offer this scholarship in honour of Mr Vassilogianis,” said Dr Stavroula Nikoloudis, Greek Studies coordinator at La Trobe. “We look forward to welcoming a candidate who will further enrich our understanding of Greek heritage and identity.”
Open to both domestic and international PhD applicants, the scholarship provides $35,000 per annum for 3.5 years. Research topics may span language, literature, history, art, migration, politics, archaeology, or other relevant fields, developed in consultation with the appointed supervisor.
Applications close 15 July, and enquiries can be directed to Dr Nikoloudis at s.nikoloudis@latrobe.edu.au.
