A boy attacked by a pack of dingoes on Queensland’s Fraser Island will likely spend another night in hospital, as he recovers from his injuries.
Six-year-old Michael Schipanski is receiving treatment at Hervey Bay Hospital for several puncture wounds and scratches on his legs.
His rattled parents are at his bedside.
While his injuries are considered relatively minor, doctors are monitoring Michael for any signs of infection.
A female dingo and her three pups pounced Friday afternoon, after the six-year-old ran up a sand dune near the Govi Camping Ground, south of Eurong.
He’d been swimming on the island with his parents and older brother, during a family holiday.
Michael’s parents have requested privacy, but have thanked paramedics for their quick response.
