Mourning the loss of Stefan Romaniw

28 June, 2024

It was with deep sadness that we learned of the untimely death of Stefan Romaniw in Warsaw yesterday at the age of 68.

As a former Chair of the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and Chair of Multicultural Arts Victoria, Stefan Romaniw had forged strong and lasting links with the Greek community through his work in Victoria’s multicultural landscape.

A pioneer of multiculturalism and a leading figure in Australia’s Ukrainian community, Stefan Romaniw held the position of First Vice President of the World Ukrainian Congress and was a member of its Executive Committee. He also distinguished himself as an important leader of the Ukrainian diaspora in Victoria and beyond.

The loss of Stefan Romaniw is immeasurable. His contribution to multicultural Australia will remain indelible in the memories of us all.

May his memory live on!

With sincere condolences,
The management and staff of Greek Media Group and the Stamoulis family.
