Today, we bid farewell to a man who left an indelible mark on the heart of the Greek community in Australia, Nikos Andrianakos. Nikos was not only an outstanding businessman but also a true philanthropist who, through his ethics, hard work, and dedication, wrote his own story in Australia, bringing together his two homelands: Greece and Australia.
Born on November 24, 1943, in the small village of Pikerni, Tripoli, Arcadia, Nikos Andrianakos experienced the hardships of his era. His dream of a better life led him to Australia in the 1960s. From the first steps in his new homeland, his life was filled with challenges, but also a resolute determination to succeed. Over time, with hard work and perseverance, he built a chain of businesses that transformed his life and the lives of those around him.
Starting with a small fuel station in 1973, Nikos Andrianakos developed his business, quickly emerging as one of the most prominent entrepreneurs and one of the wealthiest Greeks in Australia. His dedication to commercial real estate and involvement in major investments, such as the recent acquisition of Broadmeadows Central Shopping Centre and the 50% stake in Northland Shopping Centre, is a testament to his foresight and entrepreneurial spirit.

But beyond his professional success, Nikos was always present in the Greek community. His contributions in supporting cultural and social events were invaluable. Many of us remember him as a man who, at every opportunity, fostered solidarity and unity within our community, always with respect and love for Greece. He passionately supported Greek tradition and culture in Australia with zeal and enthusiasm.
The loss of Nikos Andrianakos leaves us all with heavy hearts and a deep sense of sorrow. We have lost a man who was always there to give, support, and inspire. Although the void he leaves is impossible to fill, his work and legacy will live on forever. His character, strength, and dedication to others will always serve as an example for all of us to follow.
Nikos Andrianakos passed away at the hospital in Argolis, following a heart attack, leaving behind a large void in the hearts of those who knew and admired him.
According to a report from argolida24.gr, “betrayed by his heart, Nikos Andrianakos, one of the wealthiest Greek-Australians of Arcadian descent, passed away on Sunday at the Hospital of Argos at the age of 81. He was in Argolis for an investment he was planning to make. According to initial reports, he felt unwell during a meeting he was attending. The ambulance was called, and his transfer to the emergency hospital was swift. However, it was already too late, as he already passed upon arrival. Attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the emergency department were made for an hour without success.”
The Stamoulis family, the management, and the staff of Greek Media Group extend their deepest condolences to the Andrianakos family. Safe travels, Nikos. You will always be remembered with respect and love.
