Koukolopoulos follows Gervoulanos in warning over PASOK’s stagnant polls

24 October, 2025

Greek MP and former minister Paris Koukolopoulos has announced that he may raise the issue of PASOK’s stagnant polling in party bodies if there is no recovery by Christmas.

Speaking after Pavlos Gervoulanos referenced the party’s “stuck needle” in recent surveys, Koukolopoulos emphasized that while he expects an improvement following PASOK’s strong start at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), he is ready to ask hard questions if the momentum does not continue.

“If by Christmas, after the very good start we made at TIF — and everyone agrees that our next steps must make these initiatives clear — there is no recovery, I will be the first, without implying anything about the president, to ask myself: ‘what are we not doing right?’” Koukolopoulos said.

He added in an interview with SKAI TV that he intends to raise the matter internally within the party. “Afterwards, I will present the issue to everyone, starting with the president and then the party bodies. We need to speak more clearly,” he stated.

Koukolopoulos represents the Kozani constituency and has consistently been active in discussions about PASOK’s strategy and public image. His remarks come amid ongoing concern within the party about its performance in national polls and the need for visible political initiatives to regain voter support.
