Community Participation

28 March, 2019
For over 45 years, Alpha ELC provides quality care and education to children between the ages of 3 months to 5 years.

Alpha’s immersive environment encourages multiculturalism and provides a strong Greek bilingual program and an integrated Kindergarten Program.

On the 24 March 2019 a group of our children participated in the Greek Independence Day Parade at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.

The children proudly marched up to the shrine to the beat of the drums and marching songs played by the various bands.

Our children were enthusiastic as were parents and grandparents of multicultural and diverse backgrounds who were overwhelmed by the whole experience.

For some, they had never experienced an occasion like this, where thousands of Greeks gathered to celebrate Independence Day in a country outside their own nation.

This experience is rewarding for the children as every learning opportunity they obtain fulfils and improves their knowledge on multiculturalism, diversity and connecting with their community and society.

Respecting other cultures from an early age and embracing diversity will encourage our next generation to participate in a harmonious society.

For more information on the various programs, the Greek Bilingual and Multicultural Programs delivered at Alpha ELC contact Kelly Ioannou on 94291488.
