AGAPI Care unveils new Short Term Respite facility in Oakleigh, officially opening its doors on Friday, 28 November 2025, in a ceremony that marked a significant milestone for the organisation and the broader community. The event brought together local residents, clients, families, and members of AGAPI Care to celebrate the expansion of vital disability support services in the region.
The ceremony commenced with a blessing led by His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and Fr Kyrillos Zisis, setting a warm and meaningful tone for the occasion.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting followed, performed by AGAPI Care President Mr Arthur Evriniadis, Chief Executive Officer Ms Mary Gakopoulos, and His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne. The moment symbolised not only the opening of a new building, but also the continuity of support for people with
disabilities in Melbourne’s Inner East South region.
In his speech, Mr. Arthur Evriniadis, President of AGAPI Care, emphasised that every dollar earned by AGAPI Care is reinvested into enhancing their service delivery. He highlighted that the organisation’s focus is not on profit but on providing quality services.
Mr Arthur Evriniadis also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Operating Officer of AGAPI Care, Mrs Ange Pilipasidis, for her unwavering dedication and hard work on this project. Additionally, he thanked EPRO Building Group for their continuous support of the organisation.
The new facility has been designed to provide high-quality short term respite for individuals with disabilities, offering a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for clients. This expansion reflects AGAPI Care’s ongoing commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening community involvement, and meeting the growing demand for respite services.
