On November 17, 2025, AGAPI Care was delighted to extend an exclusive invitation to esteemed guests for the grand opening of its new office on Atherton Road in Oakleigh.
This significant event represents a major milestone for the organisation and the vulnerable individuals they serve. AGAPI Care was honoured to welcome distinguished dignitaries and guests, including Members of Parliament, Committee Members, former Presidents of AGAPI Care, Sponsors, and representatives from various Community Organisations.
The ceremony began with a Blessing from His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, accompanied by Father Reverend Stavros Kakavas and Fr Kyrillos Zisis. This sacred commencement transitioned into a symbolic highlight – the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Leading this moment was AGAPI Care’s President, Mr Arthur Evriniadis accompanied by AGAPI Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Mary Gakopoulos; Hon. Lee Tarlamis OAM MP, Member for South – East Metropolitan Area; and the Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Ms Vivienne Nguyen.

President of AGAPI Care, Mr Arthur Evriniadis welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude to those who support the organisation. During his speech, Mr Arthur Evriniadis highlighted AGAPI Care’s longstanding presence as a landlord in the City of Monash, emphasizing the significance of opening a new office in Oakleigh. Mr Arthur Evriniadis recounted the story of how the Chief Operating Officer of AGAPI Care, Mrs Ange Pilipasidis discovered the building and the work that went behind renovating it. Concluding his speech, Mr Arthur Evriniadis thanked everyone for being part of this celebration and encouraged attendees with elderly parents residing in the Monash district to visit the new office for a coffee.
AGAPI Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Mary Gakopoulos emphasized that this milestone isn’t just bricks and mortar, it’s about strengthening community connections, increasing access and making a real difference in the lives of people in our community. Ms Mary Gakopoulos informed the guests that AGAPI Care has been providing high quality compassionate support to individuals and families for decades and this expansion reflects their dedication to meeting the involving needs of the community, ensuring that no matter where people are, help is available.

During his speech, Hon. Lee Tarlamis OAM MP remarked that the diversity present in the room exemplifies the strong connection individuals have with AGAPI Care, highlighting the amazing strength of the AGAPI Care Family. Hon. Lee Tarlamis OAM MP commended AGAPI Care on its expansion to Adelaide and Darwin noting that this growth is a result of their close collaboration with families to identify specific needs and provide tailored support as well as the passion and dedication of their team, the staff, the volunteers, the sponsors and the supporters.
Ms Vivienne Nguyen expressed her admiration for AGAPI Care’s contributions to the multicultural community of Victoria. Ms Vivienne Nguyen emphasised that AGAPI Care not only upholds dignity and respect for its clients but also actively fosters multiculturalism and this commitment is embedded in the organisation’s DNA, reflected in its practices, staff, and volunteers.Guests had the opportunity to explore the brand new office, featuring a modern design and advanced security systems to ensure the safety and comfort of both staff and clients. This new facility will serve as an Elderly Hub every Tuesday and Thursday, and will host a Day Program for individuals with disabilities on Mondays and Wednesdays. All activities provided at this office will focus on helping vulnerable individuals maintain their independence, mobility, and social connections.
