Cyprus confirms first two cases of Coronavirus

The government of the Republic of Cyprus
confirmed the first two coronavirus cases on the island on Monday.

The first case is a 25-year old Greek Cypriot who had travelled recently to Milan, Italy. He is now in self-isolation.

The second victim is a 64-year old Greek Cypriot who arrived in Cyprus on March 5 from Great Britain. According to the official announcement, the man is a health professional.

Last Thursday, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades announced that, if needed, he will offer the Presidential holiday home on Mount Troodos to be used as an isolation residence for all those confirmed of having contacted individuals carrying the COVID19 coronavirus.
