EURO 2024 Final – Spain v England

11 July, 2024

The UEFA EURO 2024 final will be played on Sunday 14 July, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 CET (5:00am AEST, Monday 15 July).

The match will take place at Olympiastadion Berlin, the biggest stadium at the tournament with a capacity of 71,000. German second-tier side Hertha BSC Berlin play their home matches at the stadium, which has also staged every German Cup final since 1985 as well as several high-profile European and international games, most notably the 2006 FIFA World Cup final between Italy and France and the 2015 UEFA Champions League final, in which Barcelona beat Juventus.

Spain have made it to the final following their 2-1 semi-final success against France in Munich. Champions in 1964, 2008 and 2012, they can become the first team to win four titles and are competing in their fifth EURO decider, their only defeat to date against France in the 1984 competition.

England beat Netherlands 2-1 in Dortmund to claim their place in the final. Gareth Southgate’s team are aiming to win their first EURO title, having finished runners-up at EURO 2020, where they lost to Italy on penalties at Wembley Stadium – their first final appearance in the competition.

Germany and Spain are the most successful sides in the history of the UEFA European Championship, winning three editions each. Germany have featured in six finals in total, while Spain are appearing in their fifth at EURO 2024. Spain also has the most decisive win in a EURO Final beating Italy 4-0 to win the EURO 2012 final in Kyiv.
