“After two years, we are still dealing with videos of dubious authenticity that have suddenly surfaced, even though footage from the two contentious days has been in the investigator’s possession. Karystianou blasts the investigator, asking “Do you grasp the cover-up?” stated Maria Karystianou outside the Larissa courts following the lawsuit against the investigator in the Sotiris Bakaiamis case. She claims that critical files held by the investigator were not included in the case file, as alleged by the relatives.

Karystianou also questioned the authenticity of the commercial train videos, decrying what she described as a “cover-up and farce” perpetrated by the investigator.
“We demand an explanation as to why, although the audio and video recordings were confiscated and handed over, they are not included in the case file. Recordings from Hellenic Train, OSE, and TRAINOSE clearly contain crucial evidence that must not be omitted,” she said.
“Just a few days ago, we learned that 649,000 audio and video files from the first two days—28 February and 1 March—were confiscated and handed over to the investigator, yet they are missing from the case file. Do you understand?
After two years, we are still grappling with footage of questionable authenticity that suddenly emerges, exposing the extent of the cover-up and farce perpetrated by the investigator, who, despite my previous warnings, has received strong support rather than scrutiny.
This is why, even after two years, we have no satisfactory answers to any serious questions. Consequently, we have filed a lawsuit against him and anyone else responsible for this act.
We expect that justice will finally function properly and that the whole truth will be revealed. We demand an explanation as to why, despite the confiscation and delivery of the audio and video recordings, they are not included in the case file. I suspect they contain highly significant evidence that must not be missing. We call for an investigation into this misconduct by the investigator and for all missing files to be incorporated into the case file.”
