The Greek Book Fair 2025

Melbourne’s celebration of Greek and Greek Australian publications

12 November, 2025

The Greek Book Fair returns for its 2025 edition at the Greek Centre on Saturday, 6 December 2025. Organised by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM), this annual event brings together writers, publishers and book retailers from across our Hellenic community to promote publications by Greek and Greek-Australian authors.

Visitors will have the chance to meet authors and browse a broad range of books in Greek and in English — from contemporary fiction and poetry to local history, children’s literature and bilingual editions. With the festive season approaching, the Book Fair offers the perfect opportunity to pick a meaningful Christmas gift — one that celebrates culture, language and imagination.

A platform with strong heritage
Over past editions, the Book Fair has grown into a vital hub for the Greek-Australian literary community. In 2023, over thirty exhibitors were present and the atmosphere was described as “a celebration of Greek Australian literature — showcasing how far our writers have come.” The GCM has hosted the event in collaboration with the Hellenic Writers’ Association of Australia and the Greek‑Australian Cultural League in previous years.

What’s on this year
• Free entry for all — everyone is welcome to attend.
• A vibrant exhibition area with authors, publishers and retailers offering new titles and back-catalogues.
• Author meet-and-greets, book signings and launch events.
• A selection especially focused on Greek-English bilingual content, engaging younger readers and second/third-generation Hellenic Australians.
• Ideal for meaningful Christmas gifts that support local writers and promote Hellenic culture.
