Nasia Delis: A voice for heritage, hope, & humanity

24 July, 2025

Nasia Delis visited the Hellenic Museum on Greek National Day this year for the very first time. She recently spoke to Emily Kazakos on 3XY Drive about her admiration for the Museum and how it inspired her to spread her wings and follow her life’s true path.

Expressing regret at not having learnt to speak Greek earlier, Nasia shared how her recent journey through the Hellenic Museum awakened her Hellenic roots. She was deeply moved by the artefacts on display—treasures recently brought to Melbourne from some of Greece’s most renowned museums.

She also praised the Museum’s innovative workshops for young children, which bring ancient Greek history and mythology to life in engaging and imaginative ways.

When Nasia was invited to the 3XY live broadcasting booth at this year’s Antipodes Festival, her passion for her Greek heritage was reignited. Rena Morfi’s performance stirred something deep within her when she heard traditional sounds beautifully interwoven with contemporary Greek music.

Those same sounds echoed memories from her childhood, lovingly instilled by her pappou and yiayia. On her mother’s side, her family hails from Kalamata and Thessaloniki, while her father’s roots lie in Ilia— specifically the village of Agnada, north of ancient Olympia, and the town of Mersini, near Amaliada.

Nasia, a third-generation Greek-Australian who has not yet visited the homeland, carries the beauty of an Olympian goddess, an angelic operatic voice, and a caring soul that shines both on and off the stage.

One of her top priorities is to learn the Greek language—she is currently taking private lessons—and her greatest dream is to travel to Greece and connect with her extended family.

She is a multi-talented, charismatic young woman making waves in music, acting, modelling, and social media.

Nasia’s love for the performing arts began early, singing with the Australian Girls Choir and taking part in amateur theatre throughout her youth.

She told Emily about a life-changing moment during a trip to New York with the Choir at age 15, when she felt a powerful emotional connection to opera. This passion led her to study classical voice at the University of Melbourne.

Her artistic journey later expanded into acting, where she trained at 16th Street Actors Studio and earned roles including a feature on Hamish & Andy’s True Stories.

With a background in dance and a natural flair for performance, Nasia also ventured into modelling—a space she has embraced with growing confidence as her creative career evolves.

Recently, she was invited to become involved with the Maria Callas Australian Society after being discovered by a passionate group of Greek-Australian opera lovers during her live interview with Emily Kazakos at this year’s Antipodes Festival on Lonsdale Street.

Nasia is admired for her distinctive voice, captivating presence, and passion for purpose-driven work.
Beyond the stage, she is a committed mental health advocate, drawing from her personal experiences navigating high-pressure industries. She is deeply inspired by people who show genuine kindness and is determined to uplift others—especially the younger generation.

This year, Nasia is also a national finalist in the Miss Universe Australia competition.

As part of the competition, each finalist is challenged to raise funds for ToyBox Australia, a charity that supports sick and disadvantaged children.

A standout moment for Nasia was visiting the Hearing and Beyond school in Vietnam—an emotional reminder of the real-world impact of the funds she helped raise.

She was named the Victorian ToyBox Ambassador after raising the highest amount of money in the state.

Moved by the positive difference ToyBox has made in children’s lives, Nasia is committed to continuing her fundraising efforts to ensure all children in need receive the care, support, and compassion they deserve.

If you would like to support her upcoming fundraising concert on 1st August 2025, where Nasia will perform a captivating repertoire of classical opera and contemporary music, please book your tickets via TryBooking by searching “Nasia”.

Nasia’s philanthropic work also includes her ambassadorship with the Mental Health Foundation of Australia.

With a powerful voice, bold vision, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference, Nasia Delis is carving out her own unique path—and she’s only just getting started.
