North Macedonia, which is the new name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), “will have to be used by every part” from next week, Greece’s Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos said, speaking with the state-run AMNA news agency on Saturday.
Explaining the official procedures which started on Monday, Katrougalos noted that from now on, the authorities of Greece’s neighbor will have to use the new name on every occasion.
In addition to this, Zaev’s government will have to set out a plan regarding the actions that will be taken in order to change every single item where the old name of the country is still in use, such as official documents, roads, and signs.
Following the ratification of the Prespa Agreement, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia changed its name to North Macedonia and started the official procedures to join NATO.
