Oakleigh Cannons FC fired on all cylinders as Altona Magic was no match for Chris Taylor’s men running out resounding 5-0 winners at Jack Edwards Reserve.
The Cannons now are behind the league leaders Hume City, who conti-nued their incredible start to the season with a 4-2 victory away to the winless Melbourne Knights FC.
At Port Melbourne, South Melbourne FC took an early lead when Gerrie Sylaidos skillful dribbling skills gave him room to put South Melbourne ahead in the 11th minute.
Port Melbourne “Sharks” got back level when South Melbourne defender Jake Marshall was judged to have handled the ball in the box and up stepped the in form Yuta Konagaya to level things up from the spot.
Green Gully SC came from behind to defeat the defending premiers Heidelberg United in an entertaining match at Green Gully reserve .
Heidelberg United FC took the lead when Luka Ninkovic was on hand to head home from close range in the 29th minute, but second half goals from Mathew Fletcher and a big deflection from a Byroma shot in the 83rd minute turned things around for the the Cavaliers to get its first win of the season.
At Kingston Heath Bentleigh Greens and St. Albans shared the points after a goalless draw.
