Five years later and Panathinaikos B.C are back in the EuroLeague playoffs.
They didn’t have to play their game against Bayern Munich for Week 33, as the deal was already sealed through…Palau Blaugrana.
Barcelona beat Maccabi Tel Aviv at home and sent Panathinaikos B.C into the playoffs an hour earlier. In essence, the Spanish victory locked up the top six of the standings as of now – all that remains to be seen is the final position of the teams and the pairings in the playoffs.
This means that the teams that are “as of now” in the top six won’t go through the hassle of the play-ins are:
- Real Madrid
- Panathinaikos
- Monaco
- Barcelona
- Olympiacos
- Fenerbahce
Note: In 2019/20 Panathinaikos was in a position to qualify for the playoffs, but the season ended prematurely due to the pandemic and everything was cancelled.
