The coup of 15 July 1974 and the surrealism of Athens and Nicosia

17 July, 2024

The elites aim to sever Cyprus from Greece, it will be the “end of the game”

By Harris A. Samaras*

On July 15, 1974, some Greek and Cypriot compatriots – some of them brainless, some of them Ephialtes (Traitors) with all the trappings – believed that the Turk would be satisfied with the “sacrifice” of the great island.

Some in Greece seem to be of the opinion that by “sharing” the Aegean, the Turk will be” pacified”. Of the same “philosophy” some Greeks in Cyprus, inside and outside the Cypriot government, are of the opinion (and devoutly promote) Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) with no substance a Bi-zonal Bicommunal Federation.) BBF with “regime equality”.

Just a few days ago, within the framework of the MoU, the Fleet Commander of the revered Greek Navy was “cozying up” to his Turkish counterpart, knowing that the Turkish Navy would celebrate the anniversary of the invasion of Cyprus with 50 or so ships of its fleet.

Knowing also that, Turkey despite the “friendship and love agreement”, (a) continues to grey-zone areas with illegal NOTAM’s, (b) Turkish officials, including Erdogan, not only continue but have to a great extent intensified their claims against the national sovereignty of Greece.

In Cyprus, also within the framework of the MoU, the Republic of Cyprus (RoC) continues to offer “land and water” to Turkish Cypriots, always without the slightest exchange, despite the statements of Ankara’s puppet Ersin Tatar who, directly, says “I am only discussing a two-state solution”.

In Cyprus, which for 50 years has not taken care of its defence (hence the magical disappearance of 4.5 billion euros from the Defence Fund), while the constantly upgraded occupying army is deployed aggressively, which has never stopped violating the “buffer zone”, which continues to colonize the occupied territories, which sells off Cypriot land to any foreigner, and which sends illegal immigrants to the free areas, while parties such as DISY and AKEL insist on recommending to the RoC for additional MOUs.

To show, they claim in a treacherous manner, our goodwill. (If Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gave them psychoanalysis, they would surely be locked up for good).

Meanwhile, the divisiveness and falsification of history is well underway. Unhistorical professors and non-professors, party stooges, both in Cyprus and Greece, have set out to distort the truth to such an extent and with such a degree of insolence that they directly or indirectly justify and glorify dictators and EOKAists. Some even dare to blame the coup on the then government of the RoC.

The coup according to these mindless people at least of Greece and Cyprus was the cause and justification for the invasion and occupation of Cyprus!!!!

Listen carefully to prominent members of the Athenian and Nicosia political “elite”:

In one way or another, Turkey’s main purpose is to eliminate the Republic of Cyprus as a geopolitical entity! To sever it from Greece! If it succeeds, which depends entirely on us alone, then, mark it as “Game Over”, for both Cyprus and Greece!

Footnote: Surrealism and hyperrealism are one and the same. That is, above or beyond reality.
