The winners of the 7th Greek Public Speaking Festival – Modern Greek Teachers’ Association of Victoria

14 August, 2025

The Modern Greek Teachers’ Association of Victoria is proud to announce the winners of
the 7th Greek Public Speaking Festival.

The Festival is an opportunity for children, regardless of their language level, to enjoy
and use the Greek language. The competition is open to all students studying Greek.

The Greek Public Speaking Festival consists of two sections:

1. Recitation of Poetry or Literature

The students recite selected poems or extracts of literary works of some of the great
Greek poets and writers.

2. The Demostheneia

Students prepare a speech on a chosen topic and present it within the time limit set for
their year level.

All participants receive a certificate, as well as medals and awards for placing 1st, 2nd or
3rd. This year, we had over 100 entries from students in both primary and high school.
We will be hosting an Award Ceremony to further award students who participated in
the GPSF, as well as to present the winners with their prizes. This will be held on 26
August 2025, 6 pm at St Panteleimon Church Hall, Greek Orthodox Community of
Dandenong, 19 Herbert St, Dandenong VIC 3175.

Congratulations to all students for their excellent effort!
