Victoria’s Multicultural Awards for Excellence 2019

Every year the Victorian Multicultural Awards take place at Government House celebrating and acknowledging individuals and organizations who have made a significant contribution to Victoria’s culturally and linguistically diverse society.
The event is organised by the Victorian Multicultural Commission and hosted by the Governor of Victoria, Honourable Linda Dessau. Also present were the Minister of Multicultural Affairs Honourable Richard Wynne, representing the Premier of Victoria, the Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission Vivienne Nguyen and Acting Commander Murray Fraser.

In her role as Multicultural Liaison Officer, Leading Senior Constable Sidiropoulos has been described as a quiet achiever.
She has supported the Iranian community by delivering information and cultural training for police through which she has developed a close and productive relationship with the Eastern Melbourne Migrant Information Centre at Forest Hill.

As a senior communications adviser in the Victorian Police Media Unit, Cathy has been managing a multicultural reference group for the past 18 months, managing a weekly roster for Greek-speaking police officers delivering weekly community safety messages on 3XY Radio Hellas and sharing a range of crime prevention stories across mainstream and multicultural media.
