Former US President Donald Trump slams Zuckerberg: “You’ll get life, like the other crooks!” for conspiring against him in the 2020 election and warned the Meta CEO not to repeat it in the upcoming November election, according to an excerpt from his soon-to-be-released book, “Save America,” as reported by Politico.
Trump’s book, which will be released next week, includes a photo of him meeting Zuckerberg at the White House during his presidency. Trump claimed that despite Zuckerberg’s friendly demeanor, he conspired against him by incorporating “shameful lock boxes” in the 2020 election, referring to a $420 million contribution made by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, to fund voting infrastructure.
Trump alleged that Zuckerberg once praised him, saying, “There is no one like Trump on Facebook,” but later “turned against” him. Trump warned in the book that they are closely watching Zuckerberg, and if he does anything illegal in the upcoming election, he will face life imprisonment, just like others who cheated in the 2020 presidential election.
These remarks are consistent with similar statements Trump has made in the past. In July, he wrote on his Truth Social platform that if elected, he would prosecute election fraud “at levels never seen before” and send offenders to prison for “a long time.”
Meta has not commented on Trump’s allegations and warnings. However, Zuckerberg recently sent a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, acknowledging that senior officials in President Joe Biden’s administration “repeatedly pressured” Facebook to “censor” COVID-19 content in 2021. Zuckerberg expressed regret for not speaking out against this pressure at the time.
