St Bede’s College placed in lockdown after threatening social media post

St Bede’s College in Mentone, was placed on lockdown at 8:25 a.m. this morning following a threatening social media post.

The post, which surfaced on Tuesday night, featured a photo with the caption “I’m unloading mags on my teacher.” Parents shared concerns on Facebook about the post showing a weapon and potential harm to a teacher.

Victoria Police confirmed that while the post was being investigated by the Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit, it did not directly threaten any specific school or individual. They assured there was no ongoing threat to St Bede’s College.

The lockdown was lifted at 9:40 a.m. after a police operation. Principal Deb Frizza assured that all students and staff were safe and classes resumed as usual. The school thanked the community for their understanding during the incident.
