The 2025 AFL Grand Final Parade will take place on Friday, September 26, and is one of the most anticipated events in Melbourne’s sporting and cultural calendar. This year’s parade promises to be more spectacular and accessible than ever, with new routes, improved viewing areas, and a rich entertainment program for the whole family.


Time and Route

  • Start Time: 10:30 AM (Australian Eastern Time)
  • Route: The parade will begin at Melbourne Park Oval, pass through Birrarung Marr, cross the William Barak Bridge, and conclude at Yarra Park, outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

What to Expect

  • Entertainment: From 9:00 AM, Birrarung Marr will host DJ sets and presenters to warm up the crowd before the parade.
  • Family Activities: Melbourne Park Oval will feature live music, food trucks, AFL legends, and a large screen to watch the parade.
  • Team Presentation: After the parade, the two Grand Final teams and the Premiership Cup will be presented on the Macca’s Footy Fest stage around 12:00 PM.

  • Day Schedule: Public transport (trains, trams, buses) will follow the Saturday timetable on Friday, September 26.
  • Extended Free Tram Zone: The Free Tram Zone will be extended to facilitate access to the city center and the MCG.
