Dimitris Diamantidis voted greatest player in Euroleague history

Dimitris Diamantidis has been named the greatest player in the history of the Euroleague, securing the top spot in the league’s recently published list celebrating its most iconic figures.

Representing Panathinaikos, Diamantidis led his team to three Euroleague titles, cementing his legacy as one of basketball’s all-time greats. His unparalleled contributions on both ends of the court earned him the fans’ vote as the best player in a poll commemorating the league’s 25th anniversary.

Following closely in second place is Šarūnas Jasikevičius, whose illustrious career included standout performances for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Barcelona, and Panathinaikos. In third place is Vassilis Spanoulis, celebrated for his championship triumphs with both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.

Remarkably, the top 10 features five Greek players, highlighting the country’s significant impact on the competition’s history.
