Vassilis Toliopoulos scored 23 points, dished out eight assists, and made the go-ahead layup as Greece to a 74 – 72 away win over the Netherlands on Day 2 of the EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.
After leading Greece to a comeback from down 13 by scoring 15 points in the third period, Toliopoulos drove to the basket for the layup that made it 72 – 71 for his team with 29 seconds remaining.
Vassilis Charalampopoulos then dunked in transition after a steal as Greece secured its second victory in a row. Dimitris Moraitis added 14 points and Charalampopoulos scored 10 for Greece. Their team traveled to Hague without Dinos Mitoglou, Thomas Walkup, and Kostas Papanikolaou – the trio that led them to win over Czechia and Giannoulis Larentzakis. If the absences weren’t enough, guard Naz Mitrou-Log suffered a shoulder injury in practice and center Kostas Antetokounmpo hurt his knee in the first half and was forced to exit the game.
