FBI releases new photos of Charlie Kirk murder suspect – $100,000 reward and U.S. political fallout

12 September, 2025

The FBI has released four new photos of the suspect in the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in Utah, as authorities continue their intensive manhunt.

The young man is pictured wearing black clothing, sunglasses, a baseball-style cap, and carrying a backpack. His facial features remain obscured, making identification difficult, although his clothing, shoes, and backpack are clearly visible.

Authorities have offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, and no arrest warrant has yet been issued. Reports claiming the suspect has been identified were denied. Investigators say the suspect reportedly climbed onto a university roof shortly before noon and shot Kirk in the neck with a single round. The firearm, a hunting rifle, was later recovered in a nearby wooded area, and bullets allegedly bore inscriptions supporting transgender rights and anti-fascist ideology, though this has not been officially confirmed.

The killing has sparked intense reactions across the United States. Supporters of former President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement have hailed Kirk as a “martyr” defending conservative and Christian values, while some social media users celebrated the killing or compared him to Adolf Hitler, fueling further controversy. At the U.S. Capitol, Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna blamed Democrats for inflaming political rhetoric, while Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for stricter gun control, warning that such acts could lead to more political violence.

Analysts warn that Kirk’s murder highlights the deep polarization in America, where political violence has become increasingly common. Authorities are also monitoring online reactions to identify potential accomplices or those promoting revenge. The investigation continues amid widespread public concern over political and social unrest in the U.S.
