Greece’s top long jumper Miltos Tentoglou once again confirmed his elite status by winning the gold medal in the men’s long jump final at the Balkan Athletics Championship, currently taking place in Volos.
Despite taking only two jumps, Tentoglou’s performance was more than enough to secure first place. His first attempt was a foul, but in the second, he jumped 8.07 meters, a distance that kept him at the top of the leaderboard and allowed him to end his participation early.
Tentoglou expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the sand pit, which may have influenced his decision not to continue jumping. Nevertheless, he remained on standby in case another athlete came close to threatening his top position — but that moment never came.
In second place was Bozhidar Saraboyukov, the Bulgarian indoor European champion, with a jump of 7.90 meters. The bronze medal went to Andreas Trajkovski from Skopje, who recorded 7.77 meters.
