Nathan Templeton: Saying goodbye to a journalist of great stature

The Seven Network confirmed yesterday that Nathan Templeton, a correspondent for Sunrise Melbourne, has passed away.

The tragic news of Nathan Templeton’s death at the age of 44 has caused deep sadness throughout the journalism community and beyond. Known for his dedication to sports and news reporting, he leaves a huge void in the media world.

Seven Melbourne managing director Lewis Martin said he was saddened by the loss of the talented journalist, who has left the company and those who knew him deeply saddened. Former colleagues began paying tribute to the journalist this morning.

Templeton was known for his excellent commentary during the Tokyo Olympics. He was an integral part of Melbourne’s life and culture as a stadium announcer for the Geelong Football Club and at many other events.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues as they try to come to terms with this tremendous loss.
