6 November, 2023

Oakleigh Glendi, a fantastic celebration of Greek culture, offered a weekend filled with the authentic flavours, aromas, and sounds of Greece.

The Welcoming to Country was touching, with a modest ceremony in which the Greek Orthodox Community-Parish in Oakleigh honored the traditional owners of the Land.

Local Greek artists, musicians, and dancers came together to create a celebration of Greek and multicultural culture. The 8th annual Oakleigh Glendi, a fantastic celebration of Greek culture, this year was bigger and better than ever running over the weekend on Saturday, the 4th, and Sunday, the 5th of November, at Warrawee Park in Oakleigh.

Warrawee Park in Oakleigh came alive with the sights and sounds of the Oakleigh Glendi. Celebrating a culture that knows how to celebrate its heritage, life, family, and community the park was transformed into a Greek paradise.

The day on Sunday began with the traditional Oakleigh Grammar College boys and girls parade from Oakleigh Shopping Center to Warrawee Park and the ANZACs Memorial.

A fantastic celebration of Greek culture through music, performances, and delicious food. Many stalls offered visitors the opportunity to purchase jewelry, crafts, clothing, and more, as well as enjoy Greek and Mediterranean cuisine and beverages, including the Hellenic Wine Spirits bar.

With a track record of large attendances this year’s festival was visited by more than 20,000. The Oakleigh Glendi delivered two unforgettable days filled with music, performance, food, and more.
