Patrick Cripps claims his second Brownlow Medal as Carlton captain breaks AFL vote record

24 September, 2024

Carlton captain Patrick Cripps has taken home his second Brownlow Medal, breaking the record for most votes received in a single AFL season in the process.

Cripps finished the evening with an incredible 45 votes, nine more than the previous record of 36 set by Dustin Martin in 2017 and Ollie Wines in 2021.

Runner-up Nick Daicos also broke that previous record, but his tally of 38 was still well short of the victorious Cripps.

Cripps claimed his first Brownlow in 2022 but was even more dominant in 2024, leading the Blues to their second straight finals series and becoming the All Australian vice-captain.
