The Hellenic Museum Ladies’ Society (HMLS) proudly celebrated the Annual Garden Party 2024 with a special event at the Museum today, 29 November 2024, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Hellenic Museum Ladies’ Society Garden Party 2024 event raised funds for the Museum’s various programs while highlighting the remarkable contributions of women to Australian society.
Attendees heard from Sarah Craig, CEO and Head of Curation at the Hellenic Museum, who shared the Museum’s ongoing commitment to providing transformative education programs for young people.
The event featured live entertainment, lunch, and refreshments for guests to enjoy, including a three-course lunch with desserts by The Sweet Greek, freely flowing wines, exciting activations, a take-home gift bag, and more!
Sarah Craig said that the Hellenic Museum Ladies’ Society was thrilled to host this event again this year highlighting “I am deeply passionate about Hellenic history and culture, and our community of passionate women has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Museum. We look forward to welcoming new members into our HMLS Patrons program.”
“As a female-led team, the Hellenic Museum celebrates the vital role of women in the arts, and through the HMLS, we provide a platform for like-minded individuals to connect over art, business, and cultural events.”
“We believe that arts, culture, and history education can be life-changing. Through our programs, we aim to make a lasting impact on students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by addressing inequality in their access to arts experiences.”
The event also featured an exclusive talk by Thaleia Karafyllidou, Former Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Greece, who came to Australia exclusively for the event. Thaleia spoke about the worlds of Greek art, fashion, and her fascinating career, followed by a Q&A session with guests.
This special event was brought to you by our valued sponsors: ANTON Jewellery, Rigby Cooke Lawyers, NAB Private Wealth, and Kay & Burton.
The Hellenic Museum Ladies’ Society thanked all who attended, helping to raise vital funds for the Museum’s Education Mission while celebrating the inspiring women who continue to shape our world.
The Hellenic Museum Ladies’ Society was founded in 2018 as a fundraising vehicle for the Museum, bringing together culturally engaged women who are committed to raising funds for the Museum to preserve Greek art, history, and culture for future generations. As a public, not-for-profit cultural institution, this support is critical for the future of Australia’s only Hellenic Museum.
