The Tembi file, kept hidden for six months by Parliament President and presidential candidate Tasoulas

5 February, 2025

For six months, the file on the Tembi railway crime has been kept hidden in the drawer of former Parliament President and current presidential candidate Costas Tasoulas, according to Maria. The Tembi file, kept hidden for six months by Parliament President and presidential candidate Tasoulas raises serious questions about accountability and transparency at the highest levels of government.

The mother of the deceased president victims’ relatives’ association denounces this concealment, claiming the dossier—allegedly implicating Christos Triantopoulos, “the Great Executioner of the Bazoma”—was sent to Parliament without delay by the August

In her post, Karystianou states:

“The dossier dated 3 August 2024, which incriminates the Great Executioner of the cover-up – Christos Triandopoulos – was promptly forwarded to Parliament. Yet, it remains in Mr Tasoulas’s drawer. On that day, the Larissa Prosecutor immediately transferred the file to a prosecutor, who then sent it to Parliament under the ministerial responsibility law. This dossier names several political figures, including Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Triandopoulos, former Thessaly regional governor Kostas Agorastos, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Ioannis Xifaras, all of whom participated in meetings concerning the criminal site coverup and the disappearance of accident evidence.

“Within the same file are statements – notably, the testimony of the Commander of the Larissa Traffic Police – revealing that, during a meeting with Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos, he was the only one who opposed to the site coverup, a measure deemed essential to uncovering the truth.

“Why has this dossier, which the law mandates should be examined immediately, been buried by the Speaker of Parliament—now a presidential candidate—and not debated in Parliament despite widespread public demand? Is this deliberate concealment intended to secure Mr Tasoulas’s candidacy? How can such vital files be hidden?

“Release the buried files from the parliamentary drawers at once and make them public. The people demand full transparency, and the key culprits are already implicated.”

Karystianou’s damning account raises serious questions about accountability and transparency at the highest levels of government.
