Tragedy in Western Achaia – Three-year-old boy dies after falling from wall

A three-year-old boy has tragically died in the municipality of Western Achaia after falling from a two-metre-high wall in the Spata area.

The child was rushed to the Karamandaneio Children’s Hospital in Patras, where doctors fought for 40 minutes to revive him, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.

According to reports, the boy suffered severe head injuries. Despite being intubated immediately, he went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

How the accident happened

According to tempo24.news, the boy had been left in the care of a 25-year-old distant relative while his parents were working in nearby fields. Under unclear circumstances, both the man and the child fell from the wall.

The 25-year-old, who was also injured, was taken to “Agios Andreas” hospital in Patras and has been arrested. A case has been filed against him for negligent homicide.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the tragic accident that has plunged the local community into mourning. Residents of the area have expressed their deep sorrow over the death of the young child, while authorities are expected to examine whether negligence was involved in the supervision of the boy.
