PGT Legacy: Connecting with the Greek Diaspora

5 September, 2025

In memory of Pavlos Giannakopoulos and his enduring legacy, PAO BC together with several of our most valued sponsors, proudly announce the initiative ‘PGT Legacy: Connecting with the Greek Diaspora’.

Under the ‘PGT Legacy: Connecting with the Greek Diaspora’ initiative, our sponsors have generously secured a significant number of event tickets that will be allocated to Greek schools in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as to various community organisations.

We felt that it was important to honour the late Pavlos Giannakopoulos and his lasting contribution to the club and the sport, in a truly unique and special way whilst we travel to play in Australia for the first time.

The Pavlos Giannakopoulos Basketball Tournament in Australia is more than just a basketball event, it bridges Greece, our homeland, with our global Greek diaspora. It is a celebration of sporting excellence and a heartfelt embrace of the Greek community, and especially, future generations, in Australia.
